CORYTON APPRENTICES CONTINUE TO SHINE!

In our last newsletter, we introduced you to Alex Day and Reece Rixson, Coryton Energy’s Apprentices. This industry awards honours to apprentices for achievements in the engineering sector. Recently, Alex Day was nominated for both Apprentice of the Year under the Thurrock and Essex Awards and also for the prestigious RWE Apprentice of the Year. Both Apprentices have been key members of the Coryton Energy Team and InterGen has been proud to make a positive contribution towards developing the next generation of engineering talent in the UK power sector.

ST. LUKE’S HOSPICE

Coryton Energy have donated £1000 to our chosen charity, St.Luke’s Hospice, to help kick start their new appeal.‘Make St. Luke’s Shine’ appeal is in celebration of its 20th Anniversary year and aims to light up a section of the Hospice with every £2000 raised. The lights will be lit up for a limited time each evening until September, providing an indication of progress throughout the campaign. A celebration lighting up event will then take place in September. InterGen are the sponsors for the campaign and have helped this appeal become a success.

THURROCK BUSINESS AWARDS - HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE

InterGen and Coryton Energy sponsored the Health and Safety in the workplace category at this year’s Thurrock Business Awards. This links to our revitalised Health and Safety programme,” Safety at Heart,” and our commitment to seeing Health and Safety championed in the wider business community and it is a programme that we make our contractors aware of. This was InterGen’s 4th year sponsoring a category and being involved in the Awards and is a tradition we are proud of.
